On Thursday, May 17, Alley's House is celebrating our 20th Anniversary empowering teen mothers and their children to live meaningful lives of independence. We invite you to join us for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at The Joule Hotel Terrace at 6 pm and learn more about how you can be part of the life-changing efforts of Alley's House.
Since 1997, Alley's House has successfully served more than 1,000 teen mothers and their children, a marginalized sector of the local population. Our vision is to break the generational, economic and social impact of teen pregnancy in the community. Alley's House exists to fully transform the lives of teen moms and their children. We accomplish our mission through Pathways to Independence, our holistic life changing program fostering emotional wellness, education and teaching practical life skills to empower teen moms to realize their potential and break free from an often ensnaring cycle of poverty.
In 2017, Alley’s House served 177 teen mothers and their children. One hundred percent of our moms are low-income and 98% are from communities of color– 53% Hispanic/Latina, 40% African American, 5% mixed race, and 2% Caucasian.
You may visit our new website at www.alleyshouse.org and read more about the five pathways to holistic transformation for our moms and their children: Counseling, Parenting, Education, Job-Readiness, and Financial Literacy.
